I have been to the US three times now, I have yet to visit everywhere I want to go. High on the list of "Cities to see before I die," is Las Vegas.
There is probably nowhere else in the world other than the USA that such a place could exist. It seems like to pinnacle of excess. How can you say, "I have seen America" if you have never gambled in Las Vegas?
I am quite an avid fan of the CSI TV shows. So I can imagine of what it will be like - bright, noisy, brash and warm. The last point is a great selling point to someone sitting in a cold London flat on a winter's afternoon and dreaming of my next holiday rather than working.

Those good folks over at Freebie Reporter are holding a huge competition. They are giving away more than 70,000 Entrecard credits and lots of other goodies. First prize is a massive 30,000EC from FreebieReporter.com themselves.
There are seveal ways to enter this competition. One way is to write a post about the contest, then list all then sponsors. In the hope of winning 30,000EC I have written this post.
I'm a sucker for a competition. Write Comment (1 comments) |

With PayPerPost.
I want my websites to be self-supporting, so I need to cover the costs of hosting and domain names. Having signed up with various advertisement and referrals programs, I have now decided to give sponsored blogging a go with PayPerPost.
I heard about PayPerPost through other bloggers. It was quite controversial when it first came out. It still is to some people, but I do not see any problem with it. UpFront News is a general news site, and a sponsored post is the same as an advertising feature in a news magazine.

I pestered my father to take me to see "2001: A Space Odyssey." He thought I was too young and would not understand it. He was right. The film is a vision of a near future, in which humans make contact with technologically superior aliens. It is a recurring theme in Clarke's work. Along with the Apollo Moon landings, this vision inspired and enthralled me. Write Comment (0 comments) |

Parenthood changed me in many ways. One way I changed was to start really caring about, "the kind of world our kids would inherit". Previously, I had associated environmentalism with tree hugging hippies. But once the kids arrived I understood; we do not own the world, but are merely its current custodians. I was amazed, "Going Green" turned out to be simple and painless. It saved money and had many other benefits, such as being able to look my daughters in the eyes when they cry over drowning polar bears.
Here are 10 simple and painless ways to be green.

Evolution is about change. It has no direction, goal or yardstick. Therefore, in purely biological terms this question is meaningless. Over time, organisms have tended to become more complex. But it is a mistake to define the loss of complexity that sometimes occurs as devolution. Certainly, it is wrong to assume that human beings represent the peak of evolution. Evolution is a very slow process; it is not noticeable in the time span of recorded human history. We are merely a step on a long journey to who knows where.

It depends on the quality of water coming out of your tap. Filtering our tap water definitely improves the taste of our food, tea and coffee. It also prevents kettles and the coffee maker from furring up and makes a famous local delicacy of Scummy Tea' a thing of the past.
