Nicolas Sarkozy’s visit to Dublin on Jul. 21 was a non-event. The French President, in an uncharacteristic display of tact and diplomacy, spent his time in Dublin soothing feathers, unnecessarily ruffled the previous week. Nothing was decided, other than decisions will be made later.
Irish voters have presented the European Union (EU) with a considerable problem by rejecting the Lisbon treaty in a referendum in June. All member states have to ratify the treaty for it to come into effect. Write Comment (0 comments) |

With PayPerPost.
I want my websites to be self-supporting, so I need to cover the costs of hosting and domain names. Having signed up with various advertisement and referrals programs, I have now decided to give sponsored blogging a go with PayPerPost.

The alliance 'For a European Serbia' (ZEC), led by President Boris Tadic's Democratic Party (DS) has joined forces with a small group of parties led by the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) of late President Slobodan Milosevic. Mirko Cvetkovic will be the new Prime Minister.
In a daylong debate preceding the approval vote, Mr Cvetkovic said, "The government's main objective is for Serbia to gain European Union (EU) candidate country status by the end of this year or by the beginning of next year." Write Comment (0 comments) |

The Open Rights Group (ORG) will not verify the result of London’s May elections. Saying, "There is insufficient evidence available to allow independent observers to state reliably whether the results ... are an accurate representation of voters’ intentions."
The elections for the Mayor of London and the 25-member London Assembly are among the most important local elections in the UK. An independent body, London Elects, organizes them. Write Comment (0 comments) |
